Off Grid Systems

Infographic showing how a solar power system works: panels generate DC electricity, an inverter converts it to AC, the home uses solar power first, excess energy charges a battery, and a generator provides backup power.

Normal solar and battery systems connect to the grid, export excess power, but can draw from the grid when solar and battery is low. They cost less upfront, but still rely on the grid as a fall back when solar and battery isn’t enough. Off-grid systems are independent, sized with enough panels, storage, and often backup generators to meet demand continuously. They’re more complex and costly but offer autonomy and reliability in remote areas; they require careful load management, larger battery capacity, and redundancy for seasonal or prolonged low-sun periods.
